at 11:30 p.m. Dec. 13, 2008 at the Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Born Aug. 30, 1942, in Charleston, to the late James Doris and Ella Gertrude Terrell Skinner, she was a member of the Bellview Baptist Church at Doniphan and had been employed as a waitress at Bessie's Cafe in Charleston.
On June 18, 1994, she married Edgar Dewayne Chilcutt, who survives of the home at Ellsinore.
Also surviving are: two sons, Billy Gene Newton Jr. of Benton and Barry Don Newton of Poplar Bluff; one stepson, Clinton Chilcutt of Ellsinore; three stepdaughters, Sabrina Smith of Houlka, Miss., Rebecca Lunsford of Pontotoc, Miss., and Ginger Camp of Bruce, Miss.; five brothers, Joe Skinner and Michael Skinner of Paducah, Ky., Donnie Skinner and David Skinner of Kevil, Ky., and Russell Skinner of Sikeston; one sister, Lenora Hamm of Ellsinore; and 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Two infant sons, Brian Keith Newton and Brently Scott Newton; one infant daughter, Barbara Shawn Newton; one brother, Edward Skinner; and one sister, Ellen Crenshaw preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday. Dr. Steve Proctor and pastors Jim Osborn and Tom Graham will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
Pallbearers will be: Justin Newton, Clinton Chilcutt, Troy Joyce, Travis Joyce, Josh Porter, Jesse Keene, Mark Skinner, Steven Crenshaw, Kevin Skinner, Rick Skinner, Russ Skinner Jr. and Darren Skinner.
