TACOMA, Wash. -- Pamela Sue Abelson, 58, died Dec. 15, 2008, at her home.
Born Aug. 26, 1950, in Poplar Bluff, to Gail and Gale Allen King of Jackson, she attended grade school in Perryville. She graduated from Truman High School in Independence and was a graduate of the University of Missouri Conservatory of Music where she received a degree in choral music and a master's degree in curriculum development. She taught choral music in the Kansas City public school system and the Tacoma public school system where she received several awards.
In December 1976, she married Dr. Norman Abelson who preceded her in death in November 2006.
In addition to her parents, other survivors include: one sister, Kathryn King of Jackson; one brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Tawny King of Louisburg, Kan.; and one niece and two nephews.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico. The Rev. John Rice of Jackson will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery near Puxico.
