She was born Oct. 8, 1961, at Laguna Beach, Calif., to the late Jimmie J. and Rosella P. "Rosie" Scheffer Chandler. Moving to Charleston in 1978, she was a 1979 graduate of Charleston High School. A supporter and encourager of her daughter's friends and Charleston youth, she was an avid attender of Charleston High School Athletic activities especially tennis and basketball. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Charleston and was an avid reader.
On June 6, 1987, she married Murray Schwieger who survives of the home.
Also surviving are: one daughter, Jade Elizabeth Schwieger of Charleston; one brother, Jimmie J. Chandler, Jr. of Charleston; her mother-in-law, Laura Stephens of Charleston.
She was preceded in death by her fathers-in-law, Raymond Schwieger and John D. Stephens.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Charleston. The Rev. Michael Brewer, pastor officiated. A eulogy was offered by Kerry Stokes.
Burial followed in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were: Kerry Stokes, Bill Bass, Mike Renaud, Jeff Long, Courtney Blackburn and Richard Raithel.
