New Madrid Fire Department personnel were called to a house fire at 610 Davis St. at 5:24 p.m. Saturday. Firemen were hampered by the high winds and stormy weather as they fought the blaze which destroyed the home. No one was living in the house, owned by Mike and Barbie Campbell, at the time the fire broke out. Firemen remained on the scene about five hours on Saturday and were called back Sunday morning after flames rekindled. The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical in nature.
