ORAN -- Mary Ann Curtis, 72, died at 1:40 a.m. Jan. 1, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born July 5, 1936, at Chaffee, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. and Mary "Lena" Griffin Margrabe. She had been a school bus driver for the Oran and Rawls County school districts and for the past 16 years had been a shuttle bus driver for Southeast Missouri State University. She was a member of the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran.
On May 16, 1955, she married Clarence W. "Slim" Curtis who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, David Curtis of Sikeston and James Curtis of Oran; three daughters, Darlene Cathey and Benita Curtis of Cape Girardeau and Brenda Curtis of Scott City; two brothers, Marvin Margrabe of Benton and Lawrence Margrabe of Florissant; one sister, Rita Todt of Oran; and six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation is scheduled for 5 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Normand Varone will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Ed. Carter.
Burial will follow in the New Morley Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Mike Todt, Charles Todt, Dale Todt, Jim Senciboy, Billy Johns and Walter Margrabe.
