DIEHLSTADT -- Mary Virginia Taylor, 87, died at 2:30 a.m. Jan. 4, 2009 at the Miner Nursing Center.
She was born May 10, 1921 in McLellon, Ark. to the late Len Cephus and Edna Lewis Woods Allen. She had lived Mississippi and Scott counties most of her life and had been a member of the Church of God of Prophecy since 1941.
On Oct. 2, 1937 she married Charles William Taylor who preceded her in death Sept. 10, 1990.
One brother and three sisters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law: Charles and Linda Taylor and James and Mary Taylor of West Helena, Ark. and Roy and Reta Taylor of Diehlstadt; four daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Gerald Traud of Washington, W.Va., Linda and Bill Williams of Walnut Ridge, Ark., Judy and Keith McDonald of Atkins, Ark. and Diane and Tony Brawley of Ogallaha, Neb.; two brothers, James Allen of Charleston and Sam Allen of St. Louis; three sisters, Audrey Marshall of Charleston, Katie Green of Diehlstadt and Mildred Laster of Edgerton, Kan.; and 20 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Jim Eskew of Morley will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
Pallbearers will be: Roy Taylor, Jr., Roy Taylor, III; Dewayne Taylor, Reese Taylor, James Allen Brown and Steven Williams.
