COMMERCE -- Woodrow Pearson, 90, died Jan. 5, 2009, at Hunter Acres Caring Center in Sikeston.
Born July 5, 1918, in Melvin, Ala., son of Verma Pearson of Melvin and the late Coleman Pearson, he was a farmer and member of St. James AME Church in Cape Girarardeau.
His wife, Lillie Mae Allen Pearson, preceded him in death on May 25, 2001.
He was also preceded in death by three sons, Bobby Pearson, Earnest Pearson and Floyd Pearson.
Besides his mother, survivors include: five sons and three daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Bobbie Pearson of Goose Creek, S.C., Kenneth Pearson of Lincoln, Neb., Larry and Helen Pearson of Baton Rouge, La., Lonnie Pearson of Cape Girardeau and Terry and Diane Pearson of Liberty Township, Ohio; five daughters and one son-in-law, Barbara and Joseph Blissett of Bowling Green, Ky., Beverly Pearson of Portageville, Evelyn Brown of Shipman, Ill., and Joyce Pearson and Linda Williamson of Sikeston; five brothers, Clemas Pearson, Elmer Pearson, James Pearson and Maxie Pearson of Melvin and Samuel Pearson of Huntington, Mass.; six sisters, Abby Harvey of Trinity, Texas, Annie Ruth Hunter of Cleveland, Louise McGraw of Mobile, Ala., Jeanette Harris and Lorine Reed of Melvin and Polly Pearson of Miami; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until service time at noon Saturday at St. James AME Church in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Debbie Thornton officiating.
Burial will follow in the Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Williams Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
