CAPE GIRARDEAU -- The last time that the Sikeston eighth grade played the Cape Central eighth grade Sikeston head coach Kevin Self admitted that they didn't play very well.
"We played up there Tuesday and I mentioned that we didn't play well and we didn't," Self said.
On Thursday night his Bulldogs pulled off a 39-13 win over those same Tigers.
"But, tonight we played better," said Self. "Everybody scored. We had a very balanced scoring attack. I thought we played harder and smarter."
Sikeston (8-1) blanked the Tigers in the first quarter going up 6-0. They went into halftime with a 17-5 lead.
Trey Tigret led the Bulldogs with nine points. Kyland Gross added seven. Seven other Bulldogs tallied a bucket for Sikeston.
The eighth graders' next game will be at Jackson on Monday.
