DEXTER -- Benzle L. Volz, 86, died Jan. 12, 2009, at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter.
Born Nov. 16, 1922, in Bernie, son of the late John E. Volz and Effie McMann Volz, he was a former forklift operator for Triangle Terminal Warehouse in St. Louis and a veteran of the United States Army.
His first wife, Nancy Sebelle Cogdill, preceded him in death. He then married Nova Rogers in St. Louis, and she preceded him in death.
Besides his wives and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ruben Volz; and two sisters, Ruby Davis and Audrey McCormick.
Survivors include: four sons, John Volz of St. Louis, Ben Volz Jr. of Bloomfield, Rick Volz of Dexter and Kenny Volz of Cape Canaveral, Fla.; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Tim Russell will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
