Born Oct. 26, 1918, at Reed Springs, to the late Monroe and Bessie Smythe, she had lived most of her life in Scott and Mississippi County. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Charleston and had been a volunteer at the Charleston Nutrition Center.
In 1935, she married Charlie Duncan, and he preceded her in death in 1973.
She was also preceded in death by: one son-in-law, James McCann; two brothers, Jesse Smythe and Cleo Smith; and two sisters, Lola Smythe and Lois Smith.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Charlotte Duncan of Charleston; one daughter, Patricia McCann of St. Louis; and 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 12:30 p.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. Saturday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston with Bill Bradley of Charleston officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
Pallbearers will be: Jimmy McCann, Danny Driy, Jason Driy, Michael Duncan, Kenny Duncan and David Chittenden.
