Born June 30, 1945, at Toccopola, Miss., to the late George Edward Plunk and Vallie Louise Snider Plunk Inmon, he had been employed at Noranda Aluminum. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam War and a member of the American Legion in Malden.
On July 12, 2003, at Clarkton, he married Debra Diane Warren, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Benjamin Plunk of Aurora and Christopher Plunk of Gary, Ind.; one daughter, Amy Plunk of Springfield; one stepdaughter, Donielle Merciel of Campbell; four brothers, Joe Plunk of Central City, Ky., Ed White of Rockford, Ill., Jake Wade of St. Louis and Gary Wade of Blytheville, Ark.; four sisters, Susan Gjersten of Woodberry, Minn., Becky Pytlik of Mokena, Ill., and Tina Plunk and Kim Keirsey of Dexter; his stepmother, Flo Plunk of Dexter; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Plunk and Ronnie Wade; and his stepfather, Toy Inmon.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until time of services at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden. The Rev. Mark Powell will officiate.
Burial with full military rites will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield.
