PERRYVILLE -- Helen C. Schott Welker, 93, died Jan. 15, 2009, at her home in Perryville.
Born June 6, 1915, in Perry County, daughter of the late Joseph and Theresia Sauer Buchheit, she was a seamstress at Ollie Moore Dress Factory and was a housekeeper for St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Perryville. A member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, she also belonged to the Ladies Sodality.
On May 18, 1933, she married Elmer M. Schott, who preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 1946. On June 5, 1976, she married Rudolph T. Welker, who died Aug. 27, 2001.
Also four brothers, a sister and a stepson preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Leo Schott of Charleston and John Schott of Chaffee; three daughters, Connie Schrader of St. Peters, Ann Kielhafner of Chaffee and Mary Boxdorfer of Perryville; a brother, Rudolph Buchheit of Biehle.; a sister, Lorene Kutz of Perryville; and 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was from 6:30 to 11:50 a.m. Saturday at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville where the rosary was recited at 9 a.m. Saturday. A funeral Mass was conducted at noon Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating.
Burial will be in St. Maurus Cemetery at Biehle.
