NEW MADRID -- It took an extra four minutes for the New Madrid County Central Eagles to put away the Notre Dame Bulldogs on Tuesday evening, but a few clutch free throws and a handful of key steals down the stretch proved big in the overtime victory.
The contest was like a game of cat-and-mouse as each team exchanged the lead and neither took completely over at any given point. The Eagles led after one quarter of play, 15-11 and held the lead at half 30-27.
