Sikeston grappler qualifies for state

FARMINGTON -- Sikeston freshman Blake Angle qualified for the Class 3 State Wrestling Tournament by finishing third place in the 103 pound class in the Class 3, District 1 Tournament Saturday.

PORTAGEVILLE -- The Scott County Central boys basketball team raced out to a quick start against the No. 2-ranked team in Class 2.

BENTON -- The Kelly Hawks improved to 17-3 on the season with a close 43-40 win over Campbell Monday.

ORAN -- Whitney Welker scored 17 points and Hattie Cook added 10 as the Panthers picked up the road win on Saturday.
