License bureau now up for bids

SIKESTON -- Individuals or groups interested in managing the license office in Sikeston now have their chance.

On Feb. 10, the management of the Sikeston License Bureau was put up for bid.

In January, Gov. Jay Nixon abolished the patronage system of doling out license bureaus to political supporters. Each week since Jan. 14 Nixon has released new bid proposals for state license offices. More will be placed up for bids in the next few weeks and months.
