NMCC slips past Bulldogs

PORTAGEVILLE -- The New Madrid County Central Eagles grasped a small lead and held on with all their might on Friday evening as they fended off the Portageville Bulldogs in the battle for New Madrid County. The final score, 66-62 in favor of NMCC, was close to the largest lead of the game.

The first quarter started out as a back-and-forth battle on both the glass and the scoreboard as neither team pulled ahead to a significant margin. Portageville held a three point lead, 16-13, after the first eight minutes.

In the second quarter, NMCC took a small lead by outscoring the home team 18-10 before the half. At the intermission the score was 31-26 in favor of the Eagles.
