The Indians (10-8) were able to keep things close in the early going Friday. Kennett just trailed 12-10 5:46 into the opening quarter, but a 9-3 run by the Bulldogs (21-3) to close the quarter dashed their hopes of taking the lead. The Indian's would not draw any closer than 11 points before halftime and a 26-12 Sikeston third quarter dashed all hopes.
The Bulldogs had to look for other offensive outlets Friday, as Kennett played a zone defense very close to the basket with the main goal of limiting the impact of Sikeston's three-time all-state center Michael Porter.
