BENTON -- Scott County still has plenty to clean up of the mess left by the January ice storm. Even so, the county will be lending Sikeston's parks some helping hands.
Presiding Commissioner Jamie Burger estimated during the regular County Commission meeting Tuesday that even with volunteer help from Scott County Jail inmates, county workers have only picked up about 15 percent of the limbs on county right-of-ways and road ditches.
"Between our part-time and full-time employees and inmates, we have a force of roughly 20 people working on this," Burger said.
