SIKESTON -- Despite being plugged as a "recession-proof career," registration for Sikeston R-6 Schools Practical Nurse Program isn't getting its usual overwhelming response from applicants.
The deadline to apply for the nursing school isn't until noon March 6, but Richard McGill, R-6 adult education supervisor, said the number of returned applications is lower than usual.
