COLUMBIA -- In 1976, the year Scott County Central won it's first of many state championships, the Braves squared off against the Glasgow Yellowjackets in the state finals.
Scott Central defeated Glasgow 82-71 that year while being led by Otto Porter, Ricky Thomas and James "Frog" Williams.
In that same year, Otto Porter set the Show-Me Showdown all-time boys individual rebounding record with 25 against Glasgow and as a team, the Braves set the all-time record for total rebounds (68) against their semifinal opponent Drexel.
Each of those three players has a son that plays on the 2009 edition of the Scott County Central Braves; Otto Porter, Drew Thomas and Desmin Williams.
