SIKESTON -- Some taxpayers locally and across the country will aim to have their voices heard by Congress on Wednesday when they participate in "tea parties."
"We want to send the message to Washington that we're tired of it," said Pam Yant of Sikeston.
The "it" Yant is referring to is what some deem as reckless government spending under the Obama administration, such as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
To protest the allegedly high level of taxation in the United States, various groups on Wednesday are organizing tea parties around the country in the spirit of the Boston Tea Party of 1773.
