SIKESTON -- Community residents continue to look toward the future of downtown Sikeston.
Tuesday night, downtown Sikeston business owners and others concerned with the future of the area met for the fourth annual town hall meeting to discuss projects.
"This is basically our report card to the community, and our chance to show you what progress has been made in the past year," said Jonathan Maloyed, president of the group. "And a lot has been done."
A main focus was a presentation by Russ Volmert with PGAV Urban Consulting with an update on the DREAM Initiative. PGAV is the firm hired by the state to carry out the DREAM project in selected communities.
"This is a challenging, but also exciting progress," said Volmert. "There are a lot of big ideas."
