SIKESTON -- Tuition for three Sikeston R-6 adult programs was raised during Tuesday's regular monthly Board of Education meeting.
Tuition for the Practical Nursing Program will increase from $8,800 to $9,700 for the 2009-2010 school year. The Office Technology program and full-time trade and industrial programs' fees will increase from $3,800 to $4,200.
"Basically, what we're looking at is a 10.2 percent increase in most of those programs," said Andy Comstock, assistant superintendent of secondary education and professional development. "It puts us in the middle of the ballpark with other programs in the area."
Comstock noted the nursing school tuition includes all fees and everything students need to start the class.
High School Principal Tom Williams briefed the board on graduation procedures. Graduation is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Field House with 242 students eligible for graduation, including 41 from New Horizons.
Williams said students were issued 10 tickets -- four for floor seats and six for bleacher seats. Individuals to give speeches are Morgan Pullum, Steven Beydler and Tucker Price.
