Summer rain totals rising

SIKESTON -- Rain storms continued to sweep through Sikeston and the surrounding area early today. However, rains will move out and temperatures nearing the century mark are forecast for later this week.

According to the Sikeston Power Station, over the last few days rainfall has totaled .96 inch. The Sikeston Light and Water Power Station, which acts as an official observer for the National Weather Service, recorded the following totals: .30 on June 9; .08 inch on June 10; .20 inch on June 11; trace on June 12; .10 inch on June 15; and.26 inch on June 16.
