Budgets tighten to counter smaller sales tax revenues

SIKESTON -- For local governments, a well-crafted budget is the key to weathering the loss of sales tax revenues during a recession.

Sales tax revenue is especially important for county government, according to Junior DeLay, county clerk for Mississippi County.
