EAST PRAIRIE-- After losing several seniors in 2008, including the Carr Trophy winner, many people doubted the East Prairie Eagles chances in 2009.
That doubt lingers no longer, as East Prairie rolled the visiting Hayti Indians 25-6 in front of a packed house Friday in East Prairie.
The Eagles (1-0) set the pace early as they capped off a 63-yard scoring drive when junior tailback Zach Shipman punched it in on a 6-yard run, giving East Prairie a 6-0 edge. The Eagles never looked back from that point.
