SHS shuts out Chaffee, 4-0

CHAFFEE -- The Sikeston Lady Bulldog softball team got just what they needed from their starting pitching and the heart of their lineup on Tuesday afternoon as that combination got them a 4-0 win against the Chaffee Lady Devils.

Sarah Hopson pitched a one-hit shutout for the Lady Bulldogs in seven innings of work. The only hit that was given up fell just in front on Sikeston centerfielder Sydney Davied after a high pop-up and a gleaming sun blinded the outfielder to the point where she lost the ball. Hopson's counter-part on the pitching rubber, Montana Estes, got the hit against her.
