CHARLESTON -- Mississippi County employees may need to get extra insurance to cover personal use of county vehicles or begin using their own rides.
During their regular meeting Thursday, County Commissioners met with Sheriff Keith Moore; John Hadenfeldt, administrator of the Mississippi County Detention Center; and Richard Wallace, county road and bridge superintendent, to discuss insurance issues related to the personal use of county-owned vehicles.

BENTON -- Concerns raised about insurance coverage of county vehicles in Mississippi County have spilled over into Scott County.
"This is something we've always looked at, year in and year out," said Presiding Commissioner Jamie Burger. "After what happened in Mississippi County, it alerts us that we need to look into any issues we have, too."
