Sikeston surgeon to receive accolade

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- A Sikeston surgeon is among nine Southeast Missouri State University alumni and one faculty member to receive Merit Awards by the Alumni Association next month.

Dr. Max Heeb, a 1950 graduate of Southeast and retired general surgeon, will be presented with the award Oct. 9 at at the Copper Dome Society/Merit Recognition Program during Homecoming festivities., the University announced Thursday.
