Cotton Carnival came to a close on Saturday with a parade and queen contests
The 65th Annual Cotton Carnival parade took place Saturday morning and drew many spectators young (such as these two driving battery-powered car in the parade) and old. The Red Hat Society of Portageville took top honors in the parade, competing in the adult division and received $1,000 for their entry. Also in the adult division, first place and $600 was awarded to the Concordia Lutheran Church. Winning second place and a $500 prize was Family Hair Center while the Humane Society won third placed and $400. For the Kid's Floats, Cub Scout Pack 43 was the first place winner and earned a $250 prize. Taking second place and $150 was the Lutheran Preschool while the 4H Youth Rodeo group earned third place and a $100 prize.
