Officials say increase required to meet new federal standards


MINER -- The city of Miner will scale back a water and sewer rate increase and hope they have enough money for mandated sewer improvements.

The rate change, approved during the regular monthly Miner Board of Aldermen meeting Thursday, should reduce residents' water and sewer bills by about 30 percent from what they saw on their last bill, according to Mayor Mitch Thompson, although it "depends on water usage."
