Through the first few sets of downs it looked like West Plains was going to play their usual game against Sikeston, which in year's past has ended up with a win for the Zizzers. But, as the Bulldogs began to loosen up both offensively and defensively things turned around quickly for the home team.
With nine seconds to play in the first quarter Sikeston broke the string of zeros across the board. Quarterback Juqualin Wiggins pushed in from the 3-yard line for six points but the kick failed leaving the score 6-0 in favor of the home team.
