Spirit grows as Sikeston, NMCC advance to quarterfinals

SIKESTON -- Drive down the streets in Sikeston and New Madrid and it's evident school spirit is in full swing, with both football teams advancing to the quarterfinals for their respective classes.

"Everybody is rallying behind the team and what its doing," said Kevin Collins, vice president of the Booster Club in Sikeston. "We've always had a lot of (school spirit in Sikeston), but the last few years, we haven't had a lot to talk about."
