Tuesday morning fire

Sikeston Department of Public Safety Sgt. Todd Irwin instructs personnel how to continue fighting a fire at a house at 817 Anderson on Tuesday morning. DPS was alerted to the blaze at 11:09 a.m. and firefighters found heavy smoke on the scene when they arrived. Within 10 minutes, the fire was under control and property loss stopped. There was smoke damage in the entire house, but damage was heaviest in the kitchen, where firefighters said they believe the blaze started.
