Former House speaker charged with assault

Court date set for Jan. 6 in Scott County

SIKESTON -- A warrant issued Monday afternoon charges a former Missouri speaker of the House of Representatives with second degree assault.

Rodney Allen Jetton, 42, of Marble Hill, who served as key Republican organizer and a leader serving in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2000 to 2008, is charged with the felony assault of a Sikeston woman.
