Legislative challenges are ahead

SIKESTON -- When Missouri's new legislative session begins at noon today at the Capitol in Jefferson City, lawmakers will deal with a shrinking budget, work to create more jobs and provide adequate funding for education.

State Rep. Ellen Brandom, R-Sikeston, said she knows the new session will be tough, but she likes a challenge.
