A letter from the Missouri Department of Transportation regarding the ALP was reviewed by County Commissioners during their regular meeting Thursday.
In the letter, Jason Knipp, MoDOT's aviation operations manager, noted that the county hired Smith and Company in January 2008 to develop the ALP for the county's airport.
An ALP shows existing and proposed development for an airport and serves as a guide for the county to properly plan for capital improvements, Knipp explained in the letter. An ALP is also required for the airport to be eligible for grants.
