Cold weather, snowfall sends people to stores

SIKESTON -- Wintry weather can create some problems, but one thing is for sure: it's good for business.

"We had one of our busiest days Wednesday," said Cory Hampton, acting store manager at AutoZone in Sikeston. While business slacked off Thursday morning, it began to pick back up in the afternoon.

Popular items were de-icer, ice scrapers and rock salt, said Hampton. "Pretty much anything that has to do with getting the ice away," he said.
