County highway department marks safe year

BENTON -- Scott County's highway department is celebrating its second year in a row without any worker's comp claims.

"This is our second year without any sort of accidents," said Norman Brant, the department's superintendent. "The men have worked really hard to be safe and to make sure they, as well as their fellow worker, go home in one piece."
