Greg Kenley, owner of Midwest Winchrope LLC in Benton, shows one of his larger custom-made Amsteel Blue synthetic tow and winch ropes. Unlike steel cables and chains, the ropes are lighter and stronger yet they float -- qualities embraced by farmers, outdoor enthusiasts, wreckers and rescue squads.

Benton man makes work easier with custom-made tow ropes

BENTON -- Greg Kenley and his wife, Lisa, can often be found rock crawling in their Jeep on mountain trails throughout the United States.

With retirement inching closer for the Benton couple, they began searching last year for a business that would travel with their hobby.
