Oran baseball downs Advance, Dexter tennis rolls

ORAN -- The Oran Eagles defeated the Advance Hornets 7-4 Tuesday afternoon to improve to 3-0 on the season.

Dalton Elfrink picked up the win on the mound for the Eagles, in relief of Adam Schaefer. Elfrink threw four innings and gave up two earned runs on three hits while striking out five and walking two. Schaefer started the game and threw three innings, giving up two earned runs while striking out one and walking two.

Elfrink also starred at the plate going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs. Schaefer also delivered at the plate with a double, while leadoff man Kody Moore scored three runs on the day.

Oran will be back in action Friday when the travel to Dexter to take on the Bearcats at 2 p.m.

The boys defeated Cape Central 68-53 while the girls defeated Cape Central 62-47. Sikeston's Mikala Nichols set a school record with a throw of 31-1 in the shot put.
