Week is set aside to recognize dispatcher's efforts
SIKESTON -- To those who call the Sikeston Department of Public Safety or listen in on DPS radio traffic with a scanner, they are just a voice. To DPS officers out on the road, however, they are a lot more.
"Long gone are the days of someone just answering a ringing phone at DPS Headquarters," said Sgt. Jim McMillen, public information officer for the Sikeston DPS, in a news release.
