Roundup: Chaffee's Dooley tosses no-hitter

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

CHAFFEE -- Andrew Dooley threw a no-hitter for the Chaffee Red Devils on Monday afternoon sealing a 1-0 win over the Meadow Heights Panthers at Chaffee.

The right-handed Dooley struck out nine batters and was just one hit batter away from a perfect game. Meadow Heights' Cody Kennedy made it a pitchers duel as he struck out 11 and walked none as well. He allowed the only run of the game when Trevor Cannon crossed home from an Alex Davie RBI single in the fourth inning.

"It was a fast-paced type of game," Chaffee head coach Brian Horrell said. "We had a righty and a lefty that both pitched very well."

Chaffee (7-6) is scheduled to play Oak Ridge today at 4 p.m.
