SIKESTON -- When temperatures increased this spring, so did business at local lawn and garden centers.
"It has really been an excellent spring so far," said David Bizzell of Bizzell's Nursery Co. in Sikeston. "Now we're into selling vegetable plants and bedding plants and all your tropical plants."
On the landscape side, shrub and tree sales are really brisk, Bizzell said, adding he's pleased with the way the season is going.
"We're in between the die-hard gardeners and yard workers," said Ronnie Mason, employee of Mueller's Garden Lane in Sikeston, who anticipates an increase in flower sales as the weather warms up.
