The Bearcats shot a 318 on Tuesday and finished with a 634 for the tournament, tying St. Francis Borgia but were awarded third place by the tie breaker rule. Westminster Christian took first with a 599 while Warrensburg was second with a 625.
Tuesday marks the third time Dexter has finished in the top three in the state, winning the title in 2002 and finishing second in 1986.
Senior Chance Holden of Dexter finished in a tie for seventh after shooting a 76 on Tuesday for a total of 149 (73-76).
Teammate Cody Stevens finished in 38th with a 161 (80-81) while senior Jon Bowman finished in 44th with a 162 (81-81).
Dexter's Brennen Justice finished in 65th with a 166 (82-84) and Logan Robey was 68th with a 167 (87-80).
Sikeston sophomore Evan Deere carded an 85 on Tuesday to finish in 59th place with a 165. Deere had shot an 80 on Monday.
Teammate Kirk Hoggatt, a freshman, shot a 90 on Tuesday and ended with a two-day total of 176 to tie for 100th.
Class 2
Bloomfield's Blake Cox finished in 64th with a 177 (90-87) while New Madrid County Central's Reese Porter posted a 182 (95-87) for 76th place.
NMCC's Lofton Hayes finished in 81st place after posting a two-day total of 183 (89-94) while Seth Hill finished in 90th place with a 187 (94-93).
Class 1
Richland's Parker Evans placed 77th in Class 1, finishing with a two-day total of 196 (103-93).
