SIKESTON -- The Sikeston community received a big 150th birthday present Wednesday, courtesy of the Matthews family and Three Rivers Community College.

Three Rivers Community College formally accepted a gift of almost 40 acres of land owned by the Matthews family south of Highway 60 at an unveiling event at the City Council Chamber. It plans to build a new center at Sikeston on the land.
