Memorial Day event is set for Monday

SIKESTON -- The Sikeston community will observe Memorial Day with a service at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sikeston Veterans Park. The guest speaker will be the Junior Vice Commander of the Missouri VFW Olin Parks of Caruthersville.

Parks became eligible for membership in the VFW from his service in Vietnam as a combat medic. He served with G Troop, 2nd Squadron of the 11th Armored Calvary.
