Vicki Jackson, interpretive resource specialist at the Hunter-Dawson State Historic Site, displays a piece of mourning jewelry worn by women of the 1860s. The jewelry is part of a new exhibit, which focuses on 1860s clothing and Victorian mourning customs. Visiting the site were Alyce Bates (left) and Sydney Pitchford of Red Oak, Okla., who had stopped to learn more about life along the Mississippi.
