Books are cool summer pastime

SIKESTON -- School may be out for the summer, but many local libraries are providing the opportunity for children to maintain or improve their reading skills and have fun at the same time.

"I think it's really important to bring your kids to the library and to maintain the reading skills they have and to encourage them to keep reading," said Ann Thompson, children's librarian at Sikeston Public Library.
