JEFFERSON CITY -- The 2010 all-state baseball teams have been selected by the Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association.
In Class 1, Josh Boese of Scott County Central was named to the first team. Boese, a junior catcher, batted a whopping .588 on the season and twice hit for the cycle during a game. Boese helped lead the Braves (9-8) to one of their best seasons in school history.
He was joined as a Class 1 catcher by Cooter's Seth Childers. The senior played a pivotal role in the Wildcats' third place finish in Class 1.
Risco's Ross Carter was named to the second team as a catcher as well. The senior batted .424 with five home runs and 26 RBI and had a .797 slugging percentage. Carter also led his team to its best record in years as the Tigers finished 15-8 and placed second in districts to Cooter.
Gabe Kielhofner was also named to the second team as a utility player. Kielhofner hit .438 for the Eagles with 25 RBI. He had 10 doubles and batted .516 with runners in scoring position. As a pitcher, Kielhofner was 2-1 with three saves and a 1.67 ERA.
In Class 2, Scott City senior Skylar Cobb was named a second team outfielder. Cobb batted .426 with three homers and 26 RBI while scoring 22 runs.
